Background

Principia is renowned for incredible frame stiffness. The secret lies in the shape of our tubes. Since 2002, we have constantly been improving our signature elliptical bottom bracket and head tube. We want to achieve maximum stiffness in these components to give you perfect handling.

TECHNOLOGY

Each tube shape is designed to cope with the specific loads, the tube is subjected to.
The increased diameter in the midsection of the bottom bracket and head tube increases stiffness and strength without adding to the weight.
The elliptical shape increases the contact surface between the tubes resulting in a stronger frame.

Handling

Cyclists have different requirements. But we have never heard about anyone who did not want steady handling and minimum waste of power. Principia’s Ellipse Project is all about delivering this performance.
